This month we caught up with Darcy Stapleton, Alfex CNC Australia Service Engineer with a trade certificate as a fitter and Turner and an advanced diploma in Engineering. Darcy started with Alfex CNC Australia back in 2011 and has been factory trained in the US and the UK.  Whilst based in Melbourne, Darcy travels all over Australia to service both CNC machine tools and laser machines. Well known and very well-liked by our customers, Darcy is a fix-it whiz and an integral part of our team.

Alfex CNC Australia Director George Buhagiar announced earlier this month the expansion of the laser and CNC company’s service department, creating new jobs and facility upgrades to their growing list of customers.
Take these wooden end tables. Durable and versatile for sure, but how do you make something so mass produced stand out? By laser engraving it, of course! Check out the steps below to learn how we engraved a custom map on these cute end tables.

Kicking off our 2018 Team Spotlight, we chat with Haydn Brown, Queensland Laser Sales.

With a trade certificate as a fitter and turner and Diploma in Engineering, Haydn has been a great asset to the Alfex team since he started in 2011. Originally starting as a Haas service technician, Haydn was introduced to the laser division and continued to work as a technician under both our CNC machine tool and laser divisions. Having developed great relationships with customers across Queensland, Haydn got into sales 3 years ago.

We’re delighted to announce that BOFA have been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation. This accolade is in recognition of the revolutionary Intelligent Operating (iQ) system which was first launched in 2012.

In November we installed the Epilog Legend Elite Mini 18 Laser at St Aidan’s Anglican Girls School in Brisbane. Our very own Haydn Brown walked through the setup of the system with the teachers explaining various parts and how to maintain the system.

Jackie Child from St Aidan’s commented “We were so impressed and watched with eyes glued to the cutting table.” Watch the video of the first design cut with their new laser.
